Huan (Noah) Nguyen, MBA, MSc, PMP®

I am a Ph.D. student in Business Information Technology (BIT) at Virginia Tech, Pamplin College of Business, starting in Fall 2026.

I come to this program with advanced degrees in Management (MBA) and Computer Science (Bachelor and MSc), along with professional certification as a Project Management Professional (PMP®). Together, this training lets my scholarly work bridge the domains of information systems, human behavior, and cybersecurity.

Building on that foundation, my research examines the human and organizational dimensions of cybersecurity, spanning behavioral and organizational security, privacy, misinformation and social cybersecurity, information assurance and resilience, and human and AI collaboration. Using quantitative and computational methods, including surveys, experiments, structural equation modeling, econometric analysis, machine learning, natural language processing, large language models, bibliometric analysis, systematic reviews, and meta-analysis, I study how individuals and organizations make security decisions, and how they respond when information systems are contested or disrupted. My earlier work on digital entrepreneurship and the future of work continues to inform how I approach technology-mediated organizational behavior.

This research has appeared in peer-reviewed journals such as Computers in Human Behavior, Technological Forecasting and Social Change, European Journal of Innovation Management, Acta Psychologica, and SAGE Open. I have also presented it at premier information systems conferences including the International Conference on Information Systems (ICIS), the Pacific Asia Conference on Information Systems (PACIS), and the Americas Conference on Information Systems (AMCIS).

Alongside my own research, I serve the academic community as an ad-hoc reviewer for reputable journals including Information Systems Frontiers, Technological Forecasting & Social Change, International Journal of Information Management Data Insights, The International Journal of Management Education, and Asian Education and Development Studies. I also contribute as a reviewer for leading conferences such as the International Conference on Information Systems (ICIS), the Pacific Asia Conference on Information Systems (PACIS), the European Conference on Information Systems (ECIS), the Americas Conference on Information Systems (AMCIS), the Hawaii International Conference on System Sciences (HICSS), and the Australasian Conference on Information Systems (ACIS).
